On the mantelpiece above the fireplace in our office, we have a collection of knick-knacks and bric-a-brac (or tschochkes, as we say in Brooklyn) given to us by friends or picked up from our travels around the world. Many of them are religious artifacts of one sort and faith or another. All have a certain kitschy glory, and we put them together as one giant good luck charm. Or, as the video below explains, we hope it's good luck.
