John Phillips (right) and Eliot Spitzer: Power Pair
On November 10, the
League of Humane Voters, New York City will be celebrating its sixth anniversary with a big bash at
Jivamukti Yoga Center, with celebrities and musicians and, of course, a posse of politicians who have ventured to imagine that we, the citizenry, might be better off if we weren't given license to do anything we want to our non-voting fellow animals.
The man behind the LOHV is the disarmingly tenacious John Phillips, who began the organization before he was even old enough to vote and, now that he has reached his own majority, is planning to make animal issues the same. You can find out more what LOHV NYC has been doing by
coming along to the gala. Otherwise, check out their website and/or send money. It might be the smartest campaign donation you'll ever make.
