The Lantern Books Blog: Never Too Late to Write a Book
January 14, 2007 3:59pm
In March Ballantine Books is going to publish a memoir (The Invisible Wall) by Harry Bernstein about a young Jewish boy growing up in a poor Lancashire mill town near Manchester. On one side of the street are Jews; on the other side are Christians. An invisible wall keeps the two sides totally separated until Harry's older sister and a Christian boy from the other side of the street fall in love and meet secretly until they are found out and their romance comes to an abrupt halt.
The book has received starred pre-publication reviews from both Publishers Weekly and Booklist. This is the author's first book and--are you ready for this?--he's 95!
