Al Gore: Global citizen
Former vice-president
Al Gore's movie about global warming,
An Inconvenient Truth is, depending on how you look at it: a telling example of how smart and passionate an individual Al Gore is and how tragic it is that he didn't become president and set us on course for environmental sustainability; or a disingenuous infomercial for a revived presidential candidacy from someone who had eight years in which to help the country confront the truths of global warming, but didn't, and who blew his campaign for president in 2000 because he ran away from the truth because it was, well, inconvenient.
Actually, the movie raised both feelings in me. It's entertaining, informative, and well-made. I could have used less Al Gore, but his presence only confirmed the failures of politicians in general and this administration in particular. I would recommend it to anyone, because the truth is still inconvenient and terrible, and must be acted upon by individuals and governments, and we all need to hear that, whoever the messenger is.
