More food matters: Readers interested in what's going on with our food systems might want to check out the blog by Michael Pollan, the author, most recently, of The Omnivore's Dilemma. Writing in the New York Times, Pollan admirably captures what is happening outside Lantern's windows in Union Square at the moment.

Like much that is omnivorous, Pollan's writing is suitably and blandly non-judgmental, except when it comes to the issue of vegetarianism. Nevertheless, it's worth checking out.
