Lantern Books was co-founded by Gene Gollogly and Martin Rowe in 1999 and publishes general, non-fiction trade books on vegetarianism, animal advocacy, environmentalism, religion, and social justice. Lantern Books is a division of Booklight Incorporated, and has an editorial services and ebook creation division, LanternMedia. Lantern distributes a number of publishers, including Chiron Publications and the American Mental Health Foundation. Lantern is itself distributed by Steiner Books.

Wendy Lee is Publishing Director at Lantern Books. In addition to spending more than ten years in publishing, she has worked as an English teacher in China, led creative writing workshops, and served as a mentor with the nonprofit Girls Write Now. She is the author of the novel Happy Family (Grove Press, 2008), and editor (with Kara) of Defiant Daughters: 21 Women on Art, Activism, Animals, and The Sexual Politics of Meat. Evander Lomke is the Editor at Large at Lantern Books and Steiner Books, and the Executive Director of the American Mental Health Foundation, which in 2009 celebrated 85 years of excellence devoted to mental health research. He is the author (with Martin) of Right Off the Bat: Baseball, Cricket, Literature, and Life. He blogs regularly at rightoffthebatbook.com.

Raymond Cho is publishing technology specialist at Lantern Books, concentrating on ebooks and their submission to various electronic retailing outlets. He is also in charge of recording and editing audio presentations of books and promotional materials. He plays the guitar, and is interested in football and basketball.

Martin Rowe is Publisher at Large at Lantern Books and Vice-President of Booklight Inc. He is the author of Nicaea: A Book of Correspondences and editor of The Way of Compassion. He co-founded the magazine Satya. He is also the author (with Evander) of Right Off the Bat: Baseball, Cricket, Literature, and Life. His website is www.martin-rowe.com.
